Consultation and Other Services
Classroom Lab Support Services (CLSS) provides specialized and personalized one-on-one consultation to our faculty and staff for their professional and personal instructional technology development. In addition, CLSS offers other services such as the college's Software Site Licensing and Distribution for all faculty, staff and students. Listed below are some of these services:
Jay College students with a dedicated team of staff to smooth students' academic experiences of integrated Blackboard education. Established on September 2009 students with any Blackboard issues or questions may visit and consult with the team located in CLSS office L2.73.10 NB during normal business hours or send their questions to blackboardstudent@jjay.cuny.edu or call 212-237-8200.
In August 2010, the Office of Undergraduate Studies and CLSS, as a joint and collaborative effort, established the Blackboard Support Group with its own web presence and consolidated support information to better serve and support bothfaculty and students at John Jay College. All new Blackboard tutorials and training events will be listed in its respective web pages.
Classroom Lab Support Services (CLSS) understands that there are times when we all need personalized one-on-one support in dealing with software issues. CLSS extends our services to include Software Support Consultations to faculty and full-time staff. This service is available by appointment only. At a consulation, a faculty or staff member meets for half hour to discuss a software issue.

CLSS proudly offers you support in developing your own Podcast. Services are limited to faculty and staff. Classroom Lab Support Services (CLSS) provides superior printing service to John Jay College students from most academic computer labs within the college. Through the use of the PaperCut print system, students can send their print requests to our conveniently located, shared high speed printers without debiting their allocated printing account until they release and obtain their print jobs. Students can choose to print either in black and white or in color but at slightly higher cost. If their account is no longer sufficient, they can increase their account with additional deposit.
In May 2009, CLSS established the EZ Print Center to provide students easy and quick access to their print jobs in an area with multiple high speed and high quality laser printers. It is conveniently located as an annex to the CLSS Student Computer Lab Center with its own entrance and long open hours same as the lab hours. As this print center's utilization has been quite successful since its opening, CLSS will be establishing additional print centers or stations to better serve our entire campus.
On June 1st, 2010, CLSS Laptop Loan Center (LLC) has enabled its laptops to provide wireless printing. Students using these LLC laptops can now easily and securely send their print jobs to a print release station at the EZ Print Center.
