Event Recap: MPA Connections – Engaging Leaders, Inspiring Action

The MPA Connections event was a vibrant evening of celebration, inspiration, and community-building. Held on April 9, 2025, the event brought together students, alumni, faculty, and distinguished guests to recognize the achievements of the MPA program and foster meaningful professional connections.
Highlights included opening remarks by MPA Program Manager Joseph Mahmud, speeches from MPA Directors, Simone Martin-Howard and David Shapiro, the Department Chair, Jason Rivera, and special guest speaker Daniel Cort, who energized the audience with his insights on leadership and public service. The event also featured networking sessions, alumni and student spotlights—featuring Cinnamon Paltoo, Jesse Contreras, and the SHRM Executive Board—and a heartfelt faculty and staff recognition.

Special awards and student certificates were presented in an inspiring segment, followed by closing remarks and a celebratory send-off.
