Degree and Enrollment Verification

National Student Clearinghouse (NSC)

The National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) has been authorized to act as our agent for certification of enrollments and degree verifications for students who attended or graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Please direct all requests for verification of attendance or graduation to the Clearinghouse.

All enrollment/degree verifications provided by the National Student Clearinghouse can be presented to government and municipal agencies, health insurance agencies, housing authorities, loan agencies, consumer product companies, banks, employers, etc., when you are required to provide official evidence of enrollment at or graduation from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Verification cannot be provided via fax or phone calls.

Companies interested in validating student enrollment or degree completion should visit NSC’s official web pages to submit a request for verification. Companies should be prepared to submit the correct spelling of the student’s name and all names used while attending college, social security number/student ID, date of birth, and signed release from the student to receive timely response and verification. Verifications that require Registrar Stamp and College seal

Requests that require the college seal and Registrar stamp are reviewed for processing by the Registrar’s Office. The requests must be submitted to eduverify@jjay.cuny.edu.

Any information requested that necessitates another administrative office to verify (i.e., Bursar, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, etc.) must be forwarded to their appropriate office for review and verification of pertinent data and will require additional time for processing.

In-School Loan Deferment Requests

Students must be registered for at least six credits to be eligible for an in-school loan deferment. An in-school deferment request form must be completed each semester while the student remains enrolled at least half-time (6 credits or more). Please note that this request can only be made after the Add/Drop period of the specified semester. For the dates of the Add/Drop period, please view the Academic Calendar.
