Nivedita Majumdar is Professor of English at John Jay College. She is the author of The World in a Grain of Sand: Postcolonial Literature and Radical Universalism, Verso, 2021, and The Other Side of Terror, Oxford University Press, 2012/2009. Her work has been supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, American Association of University Women, Center for Place, Culture and Politics at the Graduate Center - CUNY, and other organizations. Nivedita serves as Academic Director of CUNY’s Faculty Fellowship Publication Program. She sits on the AFT Higher Education Programs and Policy Committee, and served as an elected representative on the National Council of the American Association of University Professors for eight years.
