Bio

Norman Ringel, BS, MA, received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Health and Physical Education from Brooklyn College.  For 35 years, he has worked for the Board of Education of New York City, where he taught Health and Physical Education.

Professor Ringel taught at Eastern District High School for 14 years and the Bronx High School of Science for 21 years.  He coached high school baseball for 35 years, basketball for 30 years and soccer for 14 years. After retiring from the Board of Education, Mr. Ringel worked at Queens College, Kingsborough Community College and coached baseball at Yeshiva University.  Throughout his career, he taught nutrition, stress management and fitness, both at the high school and college levels. Currently at John Jay College, he teaches the PED 103 class, Health and Personal Physical Fitness as well as the PED 177 class, Fitness for Law Enforcement. 

Other than his family, he has a passion for the field of horticulture.  Prof. Ringel's favorite activity is the one he is involved in at the time.  He enjoys teaching and helping people.
