Commencement
The 2024 Commencement Ceremony is May 28 at 3:30pm at Barclays Center.
If you have two courses or LESS in summer and wish to participate in the Spring 2024 Commencement ceremony, you must register for summer classes AND apply for graduation before May 1.
If you have MORE than two courses in the summer, you must apply for graduation by July 31 and pay your tuition in full, you will be invited to participate in the Spring 2025 Commencement ceremony.
If you have a Bursar hold for Spring 2024, you must pay that balance in full by 11:59pm on April 14. If you are attending summer session, summer tuition and fees are due the day before the first day of summer classes. Email bursar@jjay.cuny.edu with questions.
Commencement Vendors
To schedule your senior portraits, visit Thornton Studios, https://www.thorntonstudio.com and use codeL studio to schedule your session at Thornton Studios.
*To be included in the 2023-2024 John Jay yearbook, your senior portrait must have been taken by February 16, 2024.
Students must wear a cap and gown in order to enter the Commencement venue and participate in the ceremony.
- Order by April 5, 2024 to receive your cap and gown before grad salute event.
- Order by April 20, 2024 to receive your cap and gown before the hooding event.
- April 28, 2024 – LAST DAY to Order your Cap & Gown.
