Committees of the HEO Council
Mission: The Elections Committee is charged to tally the votes submitted for all HEO Council elections. This committee consists of five HEO members who will not run for office for that academic year. The duty of the Elections Committee is to count the votes for elections open to the HEO Council members.
One of the five members on the Elections Committee will be the Chair of the Elections Committee. Chair of the Elections Committee will ensure that the ballot counting process is fair and efficient, finalize the result – including the number of ballots, all voided ballots, and counted ballots, report the result and return all ballot material to the Secretary of HEO Council, and prepare an email statement of the official result to be sent out by the Secretary of the HEO Council.
Mission: The Budget Committee works to gather and analyze information on the college's finances. The committee reviews and evaluates the college's financial plan in terms of how well it supports the college's mission and how it directly affects our members. The committee is also encouraged to submit recommendations for investment in the professional support and growth of the non- teaching professional staff. The Chair of the Budget Committee will report to the HEO Executive Board.
Mission: The Quality of Life Committee works to address any concerns related to the business and well-being of Higher Education Officers on campus. The Committee discusses challenges and opportunities related to facilities, services, college policies and procedures, and the general morale and fair treatment of the non-teaching professional staff. The Chair of the Quality of Life Committee will report to the HEO Executive Board.
Mission: The role of the Charter Review Committee is to review the Higher Education Officer Council charter and propose any amendments or revisions which may be advisable for the council.
Mission: The purpose of the committee will be to raise awareness about the HEO Council and its activities and to cultivate an active membership by systematically reaching out to two constituencies: Current HEO employees and newly hired HEOs.
