Anthropology
ANT 101 is the foundation course for the major.
Applied Math
MAT 141 is the foundation course for the major and is a prerequisite for all other Applied Mathematics courses.
Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB)

CSCI 271 is the foundation course for the major.
CJBA
There is no foundation course for this major.
CJBS
Criminal Justice Management
CJBS 101 is the foundation course for the major.
Criminology
SOC 101 is the foundation course for the major, and is a prerequisite for all other SOC courses.
Deviance, Crime, and Culture
Economics
ECO 101 (or ECO 120 or ECO 125 transfer credit) is the foundation course for the major and is a prerequisite for all other ECO courses.
Emergency Services Administration
ESA 101 is the foundation course for the major.
English

Fire and Emergency Service
It is no longer possible to declare the Fire and Emergency Service major.
Fire Science
FIS 101 is a foundation course and prerequisite for most courses in this major.
Forensic Psychology
PSY 101 is the foundation course for the major and is a prerequisite for all other PSY courses.

Gender Studies
GEN 101 or ISP 145 is the foundation course for the major, and is a prerequisite for most other GEN courses.

HIS 210 (formerly HIS 150) is the foundation course for the major.

International Criminal Justice
ECO 101, SOC 101, and POL 101 are foundation courses for the major.
ICJ 101, a core major course, should be taken the first semester of sophomore year.
ICJ requires a 200 level (intermediate) language course. Therefore, depending on language placement, Foreign Language 101/111 & 102/112 are also foundation courses for the major.
Latin American and Latinx Studies
Depending on foreign language placement, students may have to complete the 101-102 (or 111-112) language sequence as prerequisites for the 200-level Spanish or Portuguese major requirement.
Law and Society
POL 101 and SOC 101 are the foundation courses for the major. Both of these courses must be completed in order to take LWS 200, the major’s introductory course.
Philosophy
PHI 105 is the foundation course for the major.
Police Studies
For fall 2016 declarations and after, CJBS 101 is the foundation course for the major.
If you declared your major before fall 2016, you took SOC 101 and POL 101 as foundation courses and were not required to take CJBS 101.
Political Science
POL 101 is the foundation course for the major and is a required prerequisite for all other POL courses.
Public Administration
PAD 101 is the foundation course for the major, and is a required prerequisite for most of the PAD courses in the major.
Security Management
SEC 101 is the foundation course for the major.
Sociology
SOC 101 is the foundation course for the major, and is a required prerequisite for all other SOC courses.
Spanish
The Spanish major requires the SPA 101/102 or SPA 111/112 foundation or exemption from 100 level Spanish courses by placement exam.
