Bio

Ina Wanca is a futurist, enterpreneur, academic and business leader, and a founder of AI Governance, the next-generation consulting company focused on Innovation, Smart Cities and AI Cybersecurity. Ms Wanca is a prominent cybersecurity and AI scholar and advisor, known for her groundbreaking contributions to social, political, criminal justice, business issues with her pioneering cyberlearning systems.

Previously, Ms. Wanca was a Director of Cybercrime Prevention at the Citizens Crime Commission of NYC, where she pioneered and led the Predictive Prevention Lab.  She also lecturers at New York University, and works exclusively with Carnegie Mellon University.

Ms. Wanca's research focuses on the intersection of  human-computer interaction, innovation and security.  She is wildely published on her topics and often appears as a frequent keynote speaker at industry events, conferences and forums. 

Throughout her career, Ms. Wanca has worked with various international, intergovernmental, diplomatic, and private organizations including the United Nations, the International Peace Institute, and the U.S. Mission to the European Union. In her capacity as a project manager and a research trainee, Ms. Wanca examined the role of governments and private enterprises in securing cyberspace. As a global affairs field intensive researcher, she interviewed and initiated cybercrime dialogues with the UNCTAD, ILO, UNDP, NATO, ICRC, WIPO, WTO, UNAIDS, IOM, IPCC, WFP, Radio Europe, ICC, ICTY, Chinese Mission to the UN, Turkish Mission to the UN, the Russian Embassy in Prague, U.S. Embassies and Consulates, and the Czech Ministry of Interior, among others, to map the most effective ways of preventing cybercrime. Ms. Wanca conducted country-specific risk assessments and presented ideas to high-level UN senior policymakers and U.S. and EU officials addressing the issues of social impact through secure capacity building and knowledge development.

Ms. Wanca is also a member of the FBI InfraGard, NY Chapter and a prominent member of the Council of Europe Octopus community working on initiatives to strengthen public-private cooperation in fighting cybercrime. Mr. Wanca is also an affiliated member of the Initiative for the Study of Emerging Threats at New York University. 

Before diving into the world of AI, Ms. Wanca enjoyed a successful career with Willkie Farr & Gallagher, Bloomberg LP and Chubb Limited, where she worked on intellectual property, lobbying, and regulatory compliance matters in more than 120 countries.
