BEFORE You receive communication from Admissions that your credits have been evaluated

Review the Newly Accepted Transfer Student Checklist. This checklist outlines steps that you need to take before you can be advised and register for courses.
Advisement and registration for the fall semester begins early May
Advisement and registration for the spring semester begins early December

Request official and final transcripts from any non-CUNY institutions that you attended to be submitted to the Admissions Office at evaluations@jjay.cuny.edu. This does not happen automatically. An up-to-date credit evaluation is critical for accurate advisement and course registration.

AFTER You receive communication from Admissions that your credits have been evaluated
Your transfer credits will be viewable on your CUNYfirst student account and you may begin the academic advising and registration process. Take action as soon as possible! Advisement appointments and courses fill-up quickly.

To sign up for an appointment with an Academic Advisor, login to Navigate and choose a time that works for you. Please note, you must use your CUNY First login credentials in order to log in to Navigate.

Although not required, transfer students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic Advisor. You are welcome to register for classes on your own and then review your selections with an advisor as soon as you are able to schedule an appointment. *Course registration does not take place during advisement appointments.
