Why Wait, Start College Now!

Programmatic Feasibility
Schools seeking to participate in College Now courses should consider the programmatic requirements of participation. All classes meet during after-school hours or Saturday mornings. 

  • College credit courses meet in remote online (weekdays) and in-person (Saturday) modalities. Students should consider which modality best fits their schedule and ability to travel to the John Jay campus.
  • Courses meet once a week or twice a week from 4:30 PM to 6:45 PM or on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Student Academic Skill Levels
John Jay’s College Now program is designed to meet high school students' diverse academic needs and interests. While admission requirements vary depending on the type of course, students participating in college-credit classes must meet the eligibility requirements. Also, students are required to make a serious commitment to attend classes and complete their assignments.

College Now Orientation
College Now orientation is required for all enrolled students. Orientation is designed to acquaint students with the College Now program and the expectations of the college classroom.  Additionally, students will have the chance to meet fellow students, program faculty, and the College Now staff at John Jay College.
