Graduation Requirements

Candidates for the baccalaureate degree must complete at least 120 credits to fulfill the degree requirements.

Please Note:

  • All Undergraduate students must maintain an overall 2.0 GPA, 2.0 Major GPA, and earn a minimum of 120 credits in order to graduate. 
     
  • All BA/MA students must maintain an overall 3.5 GPA and earn a minimum of 134 credits.
     
  • All Graduate students must maintain an overall 3.0 GPA.
     
  • Please verify that the Major, Minor and/or Sub-Plan (Specialization or Concentration) is declared accurately on your record and transcript.
     
  • Remember to utilize the DegreeWorks tool when reviewing your requirements for graduation.
    • Undergraduate students
      If you have any concerns regarding fulfilling the requirements for graduation, you should meet with a representative in the Academic Advising Services or your major/minor advisor(s).
       
    • Graduate students
      If you have any concerns regarding fulfilling the requirements for graduation, you should meet with your Graduate major advisor. 

 

Application

Candidates must submit applications for their degrees by the date noted in the Undergraduate Academic Calendar.  Spring semester candidates must demonstrate the potential for satisfying the requirements of the degrees for which they apply.

To apply, log onto your CUNYfirst account, select the following options:

  1. Student Center
  2. Academics
  3. Apply for graduation (select from drop-down list)
