Aniko Szucs teaches at the Departments of English and of Communication and Theatre Arts at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY at the Media, Culture and Communication as well as the Drama Departments of New York University. She defended her dissertation “Entrapped in the Archive: State Security Documents Recontextualized in the Hungarian Art World” at New York University. Before her academic career, Aniko was the resident dramaturg of the Vígszínház (Comedy Theatre) in Budapest between 2000 and 2005. Furthermore, she has also worked as a dramaturg/translator at the National Theatre of Budapest, at Portland Center Stage, OR, and at the Arena Stage in D.C. In 2009, she co-curated as the exhibition “Revolutionary Voices: Performing Arts in Central & Eastern Europe in the 1980s” at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center.
