The Center for Career & Professional Development at John Jay has been working quickly to get in gear for the 2017-2018 recruiting season. We are excited to share with you a summary of the current and new menu of services and resources we are offering to benefit and support our employers as they partner with us.


John Jay College of Criminal Justice of The City University of New York (CUNY) is a liberal arts college dedicated to education, research and service. We are accepting requests for all of the on campus recruitment (OCR) activities for the Fall 2017– Spring 2018. Please submit your requests immediately through your John Jay Careers Online employer account. Included in this announcement is the 2017-2018 recruitment calendar for your review. We will make every effort to provide you with your preferred dates. We will confirm the requested recruiting date(s) as they are received. Below is a list of the OCR services and resources we offer:

Information Sessions 

We encourage employers to host an information session to launch your recruitment efforts at John Jay. Employer Information sessions and presentations can greatly enhance your on-campus recruitment effort. Session early on in the semester raise student knowledge and awareness about your organization, thereby increasing the number of resumes submitted and candidates interested in your organization’s employment opportunity. All sessions require advance scheduling and preparation. Employers may request an information sessions directly through your John Jay Careers Online employer account. Information sessions are held Monday -Thursday between 1:45pm -2:45pm in a variety of spaces on campus including our Theater, Lecture Hall, Moot Courtroom, Conference Room and more. The identification of the space is dependent on the employers needs including Audio Visual, Refreshments, Capacity, etc.

Tabling Events 

Tabling is a great way to increase visibility, develop brand recognition and raise awareness about opportunities with your organization. The best days to conduct tabling events are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9:30am-5pm throughout the fall and spring semesters.

Interview Rooms 

The on campus recruitment program invites organizations to interview John Jay Undergraduate & Graduate students and alumni in our on-site interview rooms. Conducting on campus interviews is a key service and resource in achieving a strong presence on campus. All on campus interviewing require advance scheduling and preparation, and employers can request on campus interview (OCI) directly through your John Jay Careers Online employer account. On campus interviews can take place on-campus Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9:30am - 5pm in the fall and spring semesters. 

  • Fall 2018 Job & Internship Fair – September 20, 2018 (employers only) 
  • Graduate & Professional School Fair - October 24, 2018 (Admissions recruiters)
  • Spring 2018 Job & Internship Fair – March 21, 2019 (employers only) 

All requests submitted through John Jay Career Online are time and date stamped and are determined based on a first come, first serve basis and fit with the campus. Dates and space fill up quickly so we encourage all employers to submit their requests early. 

Registration for all Fairs is open now. If you already know that you want to attend one or more fairs this Fall 2018 and/or Spring 2019 please login into your John Jay Careers Online account and secure your space today and take advantage of reduced early registration fee till July 1st 2018.

Below are the details regarding taking out an advertisement in The Handbook for Professional Writing for our students which we print bi-annually. We distribute 6,000+ books to our students throughout the year.

  • Sponsor the book (multiple): $1000 
  • Sole Sponsor for the book: $3,500
