Applying as a Transfer

As a college within the City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice welcomes many transfer students every year—students who have already earned college credits.

As part of your application, you’ll need to submit your college transcripts so that we may identify which credits will transfer. To receive a degree from John Jay College, you must take a minimum of 30 credits at the College, including at least 50 percent of an approved major or specialization.

The Office of Admissions is accepting transfer applications for the Fall 2017 semester.  In order for you to be considered for the upcoming semester, you must schedule an appointment as soon as possible. 

Transfer applicants must:

  • Provide official transcripts from all colleges attended (student copies or printouts will not be accepted
  • Provide official high school diploma/high school equivalency (GED or TASC)
  • A non-refundable application fee of $70 (payable by credit/debit card, check or money order.
