Congratulations on your decision to attend John Jay College of Criminal Justice!
The timeline below shows the progression of events leading up to your registration for classes:
1. Receive a letter of acceptance from President Travis of John Jay College.
2. Testing invitations arrive in the mail. You need to register for the CUNY Assessment Test/s and take the required test/s on the sheduled dates at John Jay College.

3. Take the CUNY Assessment Test(s).
4. Receive an invitation for an advisement and registration session.
Before your registration appointment:
• Get your immunization record from the local doctor’s office and submit it to the Student Health Center.

• Apply for financial aid. File out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.

• Visit the John Jay College website to find out about courses in your major and in general education. We recommend you register for general education courses in your first semester since these are often prerequisites for courses in your major.

6. Come to register for classes in the College’s North Hall Building at 445 West 59th Street.
Directions: Take #1, 9, A, B, C, D to 59th Street & Columbus Circle or R, N to 57th Street & 7th Avenue.
