The overall orientation of the programs is to develop psychologists who have the capability to conduct independent research in the field, to serve as research and teaching faculty in universities and colleges, and to function as practitioners in a broad range of settings and for a broad range of tasks including general clinical and forensic evaluation and treatment, program development and administration, and policy development and analysis. All students are educated as general psychologists with additional specific expertise in forensic psychology.
