File for financial aid
To be eligible for the best possible award package, we recommend you apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
During the spring and summer months, you will receive correspondence and e-mails from the college regarding registration and orientation. You are encouraged to register early in the process.

In-State Tuition Eligibility
If you receive a letter requesting that you provide proof of New York State residency, immigration status and/or citizenship status, please bring the appropriate documentation to the Admissions Office. If we do not receive this information before you register, you will be billed the out-of-state tuition rate of $360.00 per credit.
E-Mail Account
You receive a free John Jay College E-Mail account when you're accepted to the college.
Your E-Mail address is usually your firstname.lastname@jjay.cuny.edu. The initial login password is "jj" plus the last four digits of your social security number (i.e. jj1234).
To activate your account, go to Student E-Mail Access, and login using your John Jay E-Mail address and password.
Since all College correspondence regarding registering for classes, college updates and reminders will be sent to you by E-Mail, we urge you to regularly check your John Jay E-Mail.
Housing
Although the College does not have its own residences, the Office of Student Activities (212.237.8698/Room 1106-N) regularly maintains listings of off campus sources for local housing.
Health Requirements
Before you register for classes, you will need to submit proof that you’ve been immunized for measles, mumps and rubella and completed the form regarding meningitis. If you have not yet done so, please download the immunization form. Then, submit the completed immunization form to the Student Health Center, John Jay College, 445 West 59th Street, New York, NY 10019.
One Stop
Located in the lobby of North Hall, One Stop is a multi-service center where students can obtain admissions, bursar, registrar, financial aid and testing information in one convenient and central site.
