The college participates in the NYPA load shedding program!

During high heat days the college:

• Turn down lights
• Cut back on air conditioning
• Shuts down elevators and other nonessential electrical equipment

Steps:

• Reduce the overall power grid stress
• Save the college thousands of dollars each year.
• Future Plans include working with NYPA to completely replace the largest and most power consuming lights in the college, the exterior flood lights and the gyms lights, with new high efficient lighting also contributing to all the above noted benefits.
