The mission of the Peer Counseling Center is to provide peer counseling and peer education services to assist students in meeting their educational goals. In individual sessions and as part of our outreach endeavor, we share with students the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the college's many programs and services. We relate to students as experienced guides to the academic and social aspects of the John Jay campus as well as being fellow classmates. We can help students in coping with emotional, social, and other life issues that they may face and provide referrals. Our primary focus is based on an eight-dimensional model of wellness: familial, emotional, social, intellectual, occupational, physical, environmental, and spirutal wellness.
